Preparing for Pastoral Ministry in Hospitals and other settings

CPE Unit 2011

Training for Pastoral Ministry for the Healthcare or Parish/Community setting takes places at St. Luke's Home.

An annual extended unit of Clinical Pastoral Education takes place on an annual basis. Our current unit ends at the end of May 2012. The next unit will commence during September 2013 and will run on a part time basis for 20 weeks. Please feel free to contact Bruce to discuss CPE.

The Bishop’s Course in Pastoral Studies in based in the Centre and runs over a three year cycle.  

Evening Courses are also run on a regular basis with an Evening Course " Introduction to Loss" running over six Tuesday evenings. The course has attracted Healthcare Staff, teachers, family members and those in pastoral ministry. For nurses the course currently has An Bord Altranais Approval Category 1 Approval  

Another innovation has been a course entitled " Basic Listening Skills - an Introduction" and runs for four Tuesday evenings.

Courses in a diverse number of pastoral areas can be run both on site and off site

We also offer courses in Mindfulness - either as an introduction to the richness of the area or as a six evening courses which provide a real opportunity to practice new ways of reflecting and addressing the various stresses in our lives.
