Concert at Northridge House 20th April 2018

Amanda Neri is delighted to present “Vera Lynn 100”.

Vera Lynn became the most famous singer of World War II and is now forever known as the original “Forces Sweetheart”. This year saw Vera Lynn celebrating her 100th Birthday with many musical tributes taking place to rejoice once again in her vocal talent and music.

This concert which will take place at 2.00pm on 20th April 2018 is a homage to her life and music with some of her best known songs from her wartime experience to her wider repertoire from her radio show “Sincerely Yours” and Musical Theatre.

Cork Lifelong Learning Festival

As part of the Cork Lifelong Learning Festival, St. Luke’s Home & Northridge House are to hold two free courses on the 22nd March in Northridge House Education Centre.

Event 1. Who Cares for the Carer? 10.30am – 11.30am

Event 2. Introducing the Trishaw 12.00pm -1.00pm

Both of these events are free and places are restricted to 20 persons max.

Happy Birthday

Big Celebrations at St. Luke’s Home yesterday where Ita O’ Donovan (pictured with Lord Mayor Tony Fitzgerald and PFH CEO Paul Callaghan) celebrated her 100th Birthday! On the same day St. Luke’s Home launched its ‘Cycling without Age’ initiative with a Trishaw kindly donated by PFH Technology Group in Little Island.

St. Lukes Home Fundraiser At Cork Racecourse

Fundraiser evening for St. Lukes home Cork that took place on Friday May 19th 2017 at the Cork Racecourse. Presented by Edelle Notte with interviews with Oonagh O’Driscoll marketing & fundraising manager, Sandra O Sullivan who is Clinical Nurse Manager in Maguire house, Celine O Shea is Activities Co-ordinator, Maguire House, Jane Appleby whom is a past relative and current volunteer and Sara O Connell a current relative who’s Dad is at St. Lukes home.

Afternoon Tea / Fashion Show 2016

The Foundation is delighted to report the funds raised in the Afternoon Tea/Fashion Event came to €4,500. Huge credit goes to Denise Ginn, a relative at St. Luke’s Home who put the whole event together, she is a true ambassador for St. Luke’s Home. The video captures the day perfectly, it was a fun filled community focused fundraiser involving all the stake holders at St. Luke’s Home and hopefully the first of many.

St Luke’s Home were delighted to receive a cheque for €1,500 from Freddy Yelverton and the United Nations Veterans at Collins Barracks towards the ongoing household model of care in Maguire House, St Luke’s Dementia Specific Unit. We are very very grateful, for their support.

Visit from Caldwell University to St. Luke’s Home

St Lukes home were delighted to play host to a group of 22 business students and their professors from Caldwell University, New Jersey, USA. Their day in Cork consisted of a trip to Janssen which included a tour of the plant and a presentation from the general manager, Kyran Johnson on the operation and business issues of the day. This was followed by a visit and tour of the St Lukes facility.
