Donations and Legacies
Today, in Ireland, there are approximately 64,000 people living with Dementia (HSE, 2020). It is estimated that this number will rise to 150,000 people by 2045 (HSE, 2020)
– just 20 years from now.
Each year in Ireland, 7,752 new cases are diagnosed (Pierse et al, 2019) – That means 7,752 people receive news each year that will utterly change their lives and those of their families, friends and social networks. Everybody is impacted…
Sadly, there is currently no cure for Dementia but vital research is being conducted around the world to find a cure as quickly as possible.
For over 150 years, having cared for generations of Cork people in their later years, we have seen the number of people living with Dementia rise and rise. And we know exactly what is involved in providing the best clinical, physical, social and spiritual care on a 24-hour basis to those living with Dementia.
At St Luke’s, we strive every day to provide the best quality of life to all our Residents and Daycare clients; we care for all with respect, dignity and genuine compassion. Our Dementia education and training units are spearheading the advancement of best practice in Dementia care, education and training in Cork and across Munster.
You can play a vital role in helping us…
