Leave a Legacy
By remembering St Luke’s Home in your Will you are helping to make sure that we can continue to reach out and care for as many as possible of Cork’s older people.
We want to assure you that any legacy however big or small will be put to good use. As well as helping the Home directly, Legacy funds can be used in research projects which we undertake with other organisations for example, the Alzheimer’s Society and Age Action. Imagine for example, the difference a gift in your Will would make in helping to find a cure for Alzheimer’s.
If you are considering making a legacy gift to St Luke’s Home, we would be pleased to provide you with detailed information about the ways your gift can make a real and lasting difference to us.
Please contact Joan Jeffery on 021 4359444 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Donate in memory
If you have recently lost a relative or good friend, you might want to talk to us about our remembrance projects.
We hope that if they availed of our services, whether in a residential, day care or outreach capacity, that you were satisfied with our care.
If you would like to talk to us regarding a donation, please contact Joan Jeffery on 021 4359444 or email us at email@example.com
You may wish for donations from family and friends to come directly to St Luke’s Home, in which case you could request this when placing the death notice in the newspaper.
Remember that any legacy, however small, is truly greatly appreciated.
Tax efficient donations
If you (as a PAYE taxpayer) make a donation of €250 or more in any one year, St Luke’s Home can claim tax back from the Revenue Commissioners, at no cost to you. This means that as a standard rate taxpayer, your donation of €250 is in fact worth €313 to St Luke’s Home.
We can also claim on multiple donations in a year if they add up to over €250. For example a direct debit of just €21 a month will add up to over €250 per year, so St Luke’s Home can claim back tax on that amount.
Claiming back the tax is simple. At the end of the year, we will send you a short form to complete and return directly to us. Your details are confidential to St Luke’s Home and the Revenue Commissioners.
If you are self-employed and your income is self-assessed or partly self-assessed we cannot claim tax on your donation. You can claim your own relief from the Revenue Commissioners. Please contact us at St Luke’s Home if you need information on your donations for any given year.
If you are a company you can treat your donation(s) as a normal business expense, deductible at the appropriate rate of corporation tax. If you need us to resend a donation receipt please contact us at St Luke’s Home.
For clarity on any of the above please contact Joan Jeffery on 021 4359444 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
