We are pleased to announce the imminent appointment of Ms. Orla Coleman MSc BSc BA to the Post of Director of Nursing @ St. Luke’s Charity and Home.
Orla’s career has been progressive and upward during the last 20 years and we are pleased that she has decided to join us at this point, bringing her considerable qualities to St. Luke’s.
Orla’s career began with Cork University Hospital gathering experience in Haematology, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Oncology and Radiotherapy.

In 2008 Orla began her work with Marymount University Hospital & Hospice Cork, as a staff nurse, learning impeccable symptom assessment of patients with life limiting conditions. As a Community Palliative Care nurse she worked as an advisory service to patients, families, general practitioners, public health nurses and voluntary organisations. In 2014 Orla lead out on the successful opening of a new inpatient unit @ Marymount.

In 2018 Orla completed a Masters in Advance Leadership in Nursing with a strong emphasis on improving the patient and resident experience using the best international evidence available. Acting as Assistant Director of Nursing on a regular basis at Marymount she was responsible for both care of the older person and palliative patients in the inpatient unit and community setting.
Orla is looking forward to joining us as we all continue to deliver our top quality standards.
