Today Bishop Colton launched the online version of the book of resources to help children (in schools or parish groups), young people, students, and indeed some adults in the Diocese, to take part in and to explore the story of Saint Fin Barre’s cathedral as we approach the 150th anniversary of its consecration on 30th November 1870.

Back in 1993 St Luke’s Home held an auction of a football and it sold for 347 pounds!! The ball is a signed football from the 1993 match between Ireland and Northern Ireland, where Ireland qualified for the World Cup in 1994.
The lady who bought the ball at the auction has given it back to St Luke’s Home to fund raise with it; St Luke’s Home were also able to get the match programme from the game. In addition, the goal scorer on the night, Alan Mc Loughlin, sent in an autographed photograph of himself from the night!!
