Volunteers

Our Volunteers are vitally important to the day to day running of St Luke’s Home. Over the last ten years we have made a huge investment in developing our facilities and as such need larger numbers of volunteers to come on board.

Why not offer your time, become a friend and really make a difference!

Here are some of the areas our volunteers get involved in:

  • Advocacy
  • Arts & Craft
  • Befriending and companionship
  • Chatting and reminiscence
  • Games, crosswords and jigsaws
  • Walks and gentle exercise
  • Bus tours and bingo
  • Book club and poetry reading
  • Gardening and pet therapy
  • Help with our in-house shop
  • Help with grooming e.g. nail painting and hand massage
  • Singing and listening to music
  • Minister of the Eucharist
  • Pastoral care
  • Various committees of the Home

 Become a Volunteer

  1. Contact our Human Resources Manager on 021 4359444
  2. We will arrange a meeting to discuss the areas of most interest to you
  3. Once we have agreed a Volunteer post we will commence the Garda Vetting Process
  4. When these steps are complete your friendship with St Luke’s Home has started!

Through our volunteers programme, we ensure that:

  • You make a real difference
  • You are involved in the life of the Home
  • You enhance the lives of our older residents
  • You are included in the running of all appropriate activities
  • You are appreciated
